Detaching Widgets from Dashboard

Sometimes  widgets need to be viewed outside of Dashboard. This tutorial outlines how to accomplish this.

The following command is necessary to enable the widget to detach from Dashboard:

defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode YES

To implement the command, enter the following:

killall -HUP Dock

To revert, change YES to NO and run the killall command again.
