Google Public DNS Resolver
Google announces a public DNS resolver. To use their service, use the following IP’s for DNS:
8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4
We currently utilize OpenDNS on our servers, and have been pleased with the fast name resolutions. It will be interesting to see how the Google service performs.
Google specifies the service is intended for end users and not for ISP’s or providers as of yet. There is currently no SLA. If the service is deployed as a primary DNS, backup DNS with another provider should be used.
